Hello to the Bears of Sheffield!

We’re delighted to welcome two bears to the Gardens as part of the admirable Bears of Sheffield trail, all in aid of The Children’s Hospital Charity. The design of the 60 big bears and 100 little bears on the trail is based on the bear sculpture in our bear pit, and designed by the same artist, David Mayne.

Come and meet Brumble, decorated by Mike and Katie of Tado, who’s set up home at the top of the Thompson Road walk. And in front of the pavilions you can Learn the Story of a Steel Bear, decorated by David Mayne, with glimpses among the bear’s fur of everything that went into making the original bear sculpture in our bear pit, from ‘30 grinding disks’ to ‘lots of biscuits’!
