Two Wentworths Lecture

Our next online lecture is by the splendid Dr Patrick Eyres. He will talk to us on Tuesday 20th July about Wentworth Castle and Wentworth Woodhouse, two Georgian rivals united through 21st-century restoration and public access.

The lecture will examine the bitter family rivalry that lead to the establishment, just six miles apart, of these two major country estates close to Sheffield, and will explore the endeavours of the charitable trusts that are seeking today to conserve this magnificent legacy of competitive country house building and landscape gardening.

Access to this and all our lectures is free for Friends. Members of the public can join the livestream on Tuesday for just £5.
