Tucked up for Winter

Volunteers Peter and Trish Kohn have filled one of the greenhouses in the Gardens with over a thousand of their seed-raised plants for safe-keeping over the winter. Most are from South Africa, representing almost 250 different species.

Some are back-ups for the South African bed in Osborn’s Field, while some are headed for other gardens, including a selection that will be transferred to RHS Wisley.

There will also be a good number for sale next year from the Friends. You can register now to receive the lists of plants that will be available for sale from the Spring. Contact Peter on fobs.plantsales@gmail.com for more information - and follow him on Instagram @sheffbotprop to see detailed photos of the plants being raised.
