Trip to Haddon Hall

A group of intrepid Friends spent a cold April morning exploring the medieval park at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire. The trip was arranged after our talk last summer on the history and horticulture of the park.

The guided 2.5 hour walk included a long climb to the top of a hill and descent through fields and old orchards with sight of long-horned cattle, glimpses of hares and glorious views along the lime avenues to the surrounding Peak District.

Thanks to Friend and volunteer Haddon guide Jean for suggesting this and Lorraine for arranging. Other, less strenuous, trips are also in our schedule!
