National Collections

We are proud to hold three National Plant Collections at the Botanical Gardens, including the only collection of Diervilla, a small deciduous North American shrub, grown for its yellow flowers that are very attractive to bees.

You can now explore detailed photographs of all three species and eight cultivars in our Diervilla collection.

Similar information on our other two National Plant Collections - Sarcococca and Weigela - will be added to the website soon.

The National Plant Collection scheme is run by the charity Plant Heritage, which aims to conserve the diversity of garden plants. Find out more on their website.
