Welcome Laura!

We’re delighted to be welcoming Laura Alston to the new role of Education & Engagement Co-ordinator for the Gardens. Laura has a strong background in delivering education programmes in the heritage sector, and is currently working in a similar role at Sheffield General Cemetery.

The education project is managed jointly by the Council, the Friends and the Sheffield Botanical Gardens Trust. and funded largely by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The aim is to deliver a programme of horticultural education, informal learning and engagement activities, for people of all ages and backgrounds; from school children to university and academy students, from professionals looking to extend their skills to complete beginners. We also hope to boost the profile of the Gardens and the Education Centre as a regional hub for horticultural excellence.

Laura will join us at the start of April and will be with us for two years.
