New talk: Tuesday 22 August

Our talk planned for the morning of Monday 22 August will now be ‘Celebrating Marnock’ with Jill Sinclair and Laura Alston; this replaces our planned talk ‘Creating a Tropical Garden Using Hardy Plants’. Jill and Laura will explore the life and career of Scottish landscape gardener, horticulturalist and writer Robert Marnock (1800 - 1889), designer and curator of our botanical gardens in Sheffield. They will also share some of the unusual and engaging events that have been happening around the country as part of the celebrations.

There will also be a further opportunity to view the original editions of Marnock’s Floricultural Magazine, which were on display in the Dorothy Fox Centre in June.
