Steve Lovell ‘Bark, Berry and Leaf’ Live Lecture

This talk and all our lectures are FREE for Friends of the Botanical Gardens to attend. Members of the public are also welcome to join us on payment of £5 at the door on the day. Live talks are held in the Education Centre in the grounds of the Botanical Gardens - easily accessed via the Thompson Road Entrance.

Garden designer Steve Lovell invites us to look beyond the flowers which are but a small part of our gardens, and to consider texture in the form of the bark, berries and leaves which are permanent.

He will demonstrate how thinking about these various components, we can give our gardens all year round value and interest, and will feature elements of plant selection, maintenance and overall garden design.

Steve is a qualified Garden Designer and Soft Landscaper with 30 years’ experience. He has always specialised in creating gardens that were wildlife friendly, whether they were for private clients or schools. He retired from his company in spring 2023.

He is also a qualified  Adult Education tutor having taught classes and groups for 25+ years and is a former chairman of the Lincolnshire group of the Hardy Plant Society. He has also worked part time for the RSPB from 07-2009 and still volunteers for them.
