Steve Lovell ‘Our Friends Outside - encouraging wildlife into the garden’ live lecture

This talk and all our lectures are FREE for Friends of the Botanical Gardens to attend. Members of the public are also welcome to join us on payment of £5 at the door on the day. Live talks are held in the Education Centre in the grounds of the Botanical Gardens - easily accessed via the Thompson Road Entrance.

In this talk Garden Designer Steve Lovell will take a look at how we can make our gardens more wildlife friendly. By gardening with just a few tweaks here and there, by changing our approach, creating micro habitats and building up the eco systems within our garden boundaries and allowing a less intensive approach to take over, we can attract a wider range of wildlife.

Steve is a qualified Garden Designer and Soft Landscaper with 30 years’ experience. He has always specialised in creating gardens that were wildlife friendly, whether they were for private clients or schools. He retired from his company in spring 2023.

He is also a qualified  Adult Education tutor having taught classes and groups for 25 years.

In recent times he has set up Greenspaces Nature (2015) guiding clients on Birdwatching and nature tours at various destinations in the UK as well as specialising in Nature in his home county of Lincolnshire.

He has also worked part time for the RSPB and still volunteers for them.
