This talk and all our lectures are FREE for Friends of the Botanical Gardens to attend. Members of the public are also welcome to join us on payment of £5 at the door on the day. Live talks are held in the Education Centre in the grounds of the Botanical Gardens - easily accessed via the Thompson Road Entrance.
Neil Timm has previously given us a talk on ferns, but this talk is all about wild flowers in the garden, garden escapees in the wild, and some flowers that belong to both worlds. He will cover growing wild flowers in the garden, the stories they tell, a little botany and some stories about a garden on the chalk Wolds where wild flowers are grown.
Neil comes from a family with a history of working in horticulture and has a life long interest in the natural world and a real passion for gardening; he helps with the running of several gardening and natural history groups and also enjoys walking, travel, music and natural history.
He has written a number of articles for books and magazines and is a regular public speaker, alongside single-handedly running the family business - a garden and small nursery in the Lincolnshire Wolds, specialising in hardy garden ferns.
